China Re Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xiong’an Group

  On 17 June, China Re Group and China Xiong’an Group Co., Ltd. (“Xiong’an Group”) entered into a strategic cooperation agreement in Xiong’an. Both Yuan Linjiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Re Group, and Tian Jinchang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee, Executive Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Xiong’an New Area, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Xiong’an Group, attended and witnessed the signing ceremony. Prior to the signing ceremony, both parties fully exchanged their views on comprehensively strengthening the strategic cooperation, jointly promoting high-standard and high-quality development of Xiong’an New Area, and promoting the implementation of the national strategy of “Synergistic Development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region”.

  During the exchange between the parties, Yuan Linjiang, Chairman of China Re Group, extended his congratulations on the progress of the development of Xiong’an New Area and gave an introduction to the recent developments of China Re Group and its achievements in serving national strategy, innovative development and strategic layout. He said that China Re Group has been taking responding to the call of the CCCPC and implementing the national development strategy as its top priority, in addition to attaching great importance to the development of Xiong’an New Area. While deepening insurance cooperation, China Re Group will promote the development of innovative insurance products and customized services, contribute to the protection of the people’s livelihood, and strengthen the building of technology platforms and the investment and financing cooperation, so as to draw the “Xiong’an Picture” of the new era together with Xiong’an Group.

  According to He Chunlei, President of China Re Group, the Group will give full play to the advantages of innovative research and development, technology and industry statistics, and replicate the successful experience of inherent defects insurance (the “IDI”) in connection with urban construction quality in many provinces and cities across the country to Xiong’an, thus facilitating the development of Xiong’an New Area and put the government and the people at ease. China Re Group will provide customized universal supplementary medical insurance for Xiong’an New Area and support the healthcare and elderly care industry in Xiong’an New Area. China Re Group will introduce the leading technology of the Group’s catastrophe risk management into Xiong’an to help Xiong’an New Area build a smart city.

  Tian Jinchang, Chairman of Xiong’an Group, gave an introduction on the operating conditions of Xiong’an Group and its achievements in infrastructure construction, environmental governance, technology industry and attracting foreign capital and investment. He said that, since the establishment of Xiong’an New Area, China Group Re has been adhering to its political position and taking an active role in the development of the new area. In May this year, China Continent Insurance, a subsidiary of China Re Group, became the lead underwriter of the airport express line project running between Xiong’an and Beijing Daxing International Airport, providing substantial support to Xiong’an New Area, Xiong’an Group and other enterprises stationed in Xiong’an. China Re Group represents the first state-owned financial enterprise to enter into a strategic cooperation agreement with Xiong’an Group during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. Xiong’an Group looks forward to deepening cooperation with China Re Group in jointly serving the synergistic development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

  General manager Liu Zhonglin recognized the support of China Re Group to Xiong’an Group, and expressed his hope to strengthen the practical cooperation including investment and financing cooperation in addition to the existing cooperation with China Re Group. Through entering into strategic cooperation, both parties can further consolidate the achievements made from the cooperation, promote the implementation of the cooperation agreement between both parties, and establish a normalized exchange and cooperation mechanism, so that China Re Group and its subsidiaries can fully understand the needs of Xiong’an New Area and Xiong’an Group, and better integrate into the development of Xiong’an New Area.

  Leaders of both parties said that they would engage in practical cooperation in various levels and areas taking into account the development needs of Xiong’an New Area and the professional strengths and technology expertise of China Re Group to jointly promote the efficient implementation of strategic cooperation between the parties.
